Created for 7DRL 2021, RoboLike is inspired by the classic 8-bit games Paradroid and Quazatron, but as a roguelike (turn-based with procedurally generated levels). Shutdown rogue robots over multiple levels, using parts from those you've deactivated to upgrade yourself.

I'll do a proper write-up of the backstory at some point.

Built in Godot with level generation based on https://github.com/nazgum/godot_tuts, and assets from https://nurdi21.itch.io/a-cave-tileset and https://kauzz.itch.io/kauzz-free-tiles-space-pack, with some variations of my own on the latter created before the start of the jam,

The final submitted version was playable, in that the designed progress from start to win condition is implemented, but it was missing a lot of features I originally intended to include, and was horrifically buggy. In particular, it had a nasty habit of hanging at random points, and I was half a day short of being able to write a savefile system.

After submission, I continued development to produce something less buggy and more like what I was aiming for. This is the version you see here now.

And after the 7DRL 2021 assessment, I picked up development again to take that feedback into account, and start implementing some of the features in my original design which were willingly sacrificed during the initial development. That version can be found as Quasidroid.
