Version 2


This release is essentially what I wanted to deliver for 7DRL 2021. I completed it a few weeks after the deadline, and it's been available as Quasidroid since then. However, now the  results of have been published it's time to make this the official RoboLike and move Quasidroid on to the next phase of development. Ultimately, I expect Quasidroid to diverge into a real-time action game, like its inspiration, rather than a roguelike, but until I'm happy with the underlying mechanisms and balance it's going to act as a preview for the next RoboLike release.

Well, that makes sense in my head.

Compared to the version submitted for 7DRL  judging, this version delivers:

  • Much more stability
  • Save/load
  • More and larger graphics (including polishes to the tileset)
  • Sound effects
  • General polish
  • Grappling*

* Grappling still doesn't work as in the inspirational games in that you don't get any control of the outcome through a mini-game, it just happens and if you win the chances of your opponent leaving behind something to scavenge will  be much greater.
